Jiarui ‘Nicole’ Yang is a genre-fluid media composer, songwriter, and music producer based between the United States and China. She works across film, animation, games, and commercial media, crafting music that responds directly to visual storytelling with distinct sonic identities.

Her work spans sci-fi, epic orchestral, psychological drama, dark comedy, experimental hybrid, and commercial scoring. She is particularly skilled at designing unique sonic palettes for each project, blending electronic textures, cinematic orchestration, and unconventional timbral choices to enhance narrative depth and emotional clarity.

With a strong rock and songwriting background, Jiarui brings rhythmic drive, structural precision, and thematic memorability to her scoring. She is highly adaptable in collaborative environments and experienced in supporting larger scoring teams, making her well-suited for hybrid production roles.

In addition to screen scoring, Jiarui has served as a music director for theatre and musical productions, and has contributed music to broadcast and televised performance events. Her original songs have been performed at industry showcases including the Society of Composers & Lyricists (SCL) Songwriters Night and other live venues. She is currently pursuing an M.M. in Screen Scoring at New York University.
